“I wrote it about some of the frustrations I was experiencing in Detroit during the time I was living there,” he says. “We had gotten robbed numerous times, my car was stolen and I started asking myself, ‘Why me?’ Because I have been a decent person my whole life. So the film examines the question, ‘Why me?’”
