“80’S THROWBACK … DELVES INTO THE MIND OF A MURDERER”

In Made Me Do It, we follow Thomas (Kyle Van Vonderen), as he embraces killing. A voice – known as Barbara (Cortney Palm) – guides him. The premise of getting a behind-the-scenes look into the mind of a serial killer sounds quite similar to the faux-documentary Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, but where instead of a comedic approach, Made Me Do It seeks to actually share what’s inside this character’s head. The film is also looking like a throwback to classic 80’s slasher films, which ticks off a lot of my boxes.

Anna B. Shaffer stars in the film, but aside from quite a few shorts and TV work, she doesn’t have a lot of features to her credit. It will be interesting to see how she does. Kyle Van Vonderen, our killer, is very similar – but Made Me Do Itnot his first foray in horror. He was Henry in FEARnet’s Training Gema TV movie by the now defunct channel from Comcast. Cortney Palm is not new to the genre, with films like Zombeavers, Dead Ant and Death House to her credit. Hoping to catch lightning in a bottle is writer/director Benjamin Ironside Koppin, as this is his feature film as well. He also co-wrote the film with his brother, Matthew John Koppin.

Made Me Do It will have its theatrical run at the Arena Theater in LA this April. After that, it’ll hit VOD & DVD on April 23rd. Will you be checking it out? Let us know on TwitterReddit, and in the Horror Movie Fiend Club on Facebook!
